Ordered now! Long ago I was hooked on the BBC series "Survivors" - found an ancient video copy in our library when my kids were younger & frightened them all silly with it. But it seems they took some notice; the current predicament didn't catch any of them on the hop & they're all coping fine, even the family academic!thriftwizardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14308673821187072939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5584699251999622098.post-16757542489072755062020-04-03T13:01:31.483+02:002020-04-03T13:01:31.483+02:00Hi Thriftwizard - hopefully I'll be able to do...Hi Thriftwizard - hopefully I'll be able to do more posts soon! Seat of Mars has been available as a paperback for four years - here it is:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seat-Mars-Jason-Heppenstall/dp/1540631176/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=seat+of+mars+heppenstall&qid=1585911649&sr=8-3

Jason Heppenstallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17886109260870545074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5584699251999622098.post-14154197383084028672020-04-01T18:25:53.132+02:002020-04-01T18:25:53.132+02:00Hi Chris,

Haha, yes - I've got up off the couch, even though the government tells us all we're all heroes if we continue to lie on it. TBH, I've been up to other things, including writing for a magazine in your good country, plus a few other projects.

It's nice and peaceful here since everyone is locked up. I'm enjoying the tranquility. Lots of birds and animals seem to have lost their fear of humans and are beginning to encroach into the urban areas. Interesting times.

I agree that things will not return to their previously 'normal' state. In fact, I just saw someone on social media saying that the moment the pandemic has been declared over then all the pubs, offices, shops and restaurants will spring open and everything will be back to normal in an eye blink. This doesn't exactly square with the news today that a million small firms in Britain are due to go bankrupt over the coming weeks.

So, yes, things will change. One unexpected (for me) bugbear is that the police are making it hard for me to get to my woodland. As I'm growing lots of edibles there it's somewhat important for me to get to it. My solution is to set up a beehive I had in the basement for a while. Bees are classed as livestock and, tending to them is a valid excuse for driving. I expect if I wear my beekeeper suit as I'm driving it will make my claim look more authentic ...

Hope you are keeping well.
Jason Heppenstallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17886109260870545074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5584699251999622098.post-81984511067050687242020-04-01T00:56:13.766+02:002020-04-01T00:56:13.766+02:00Hi Jason,

Something had to come along and destroy all that printed IOU stuff. History has always ended that story in hyper inflation, but then here we are with (dare I say it) a novel solution.

Inequalities are being tipped on their heads. Some city folks are seeking work in rural areas. Exposed positions are being shown for their lack of clothes. Who knows where all this will lead? Certainly things will not return to their former state.

Some folks may see that as the end of the world as they knew it. I know we're pretty adaptable as a species and will survive just fine. We're getting to see the underlying energy story.

Cheers

ChrisFernglade Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06950962122594709186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5584699251999622098.post-85697173250133659182020-03-31T22:32:38.203+02:002020-03-31T22:32:38.203+02:00Very glad to see a post from you again!
